VJ Performances

Barnbrook have worked on a number of live VJ performances over the past few years. The generated visuals use a series of short 5 or 10 second clips that are animated and mixed on the fly to a live musical performance. The animations are usually generated especially for the event. VJing is our antidote to our controlled, measured work in the commercial world. The rawness of live performance often feeds into our work for clients.

The equipment for VJing is quite simple:
• 1 or 2 laptops.
• OHM controller VJ deck.
• The right VJ software.
• Various animation and coding packages
(including Apple Motion and Processing).
• A bit of nerve to stand on stage and mix live in front of an audience that can range from fifty to a few thousand people.
